ASS®- Opti Flange is the specific design of the Opti series for forming tasks directly on pipe flange connections. This system is used when a secure connection is required. Sealing during flanging is required. One Hemisphere closes the flange area; the innovative handle can be used to ASS®- Opti Flange quickly. Opti Flange is compatible with all available sizes of the ASS®- Opti Sealing discs combinable.
How the ASS works®- Opti Flange
Shielding gas passes through the Gas inlet into the Forming chamberintegrated Sintered metal insert controls the gas flow and distributes the shielding gas evenly along the welding root. The 3-lip sealing disc ensures sealing and stable positioning in the pipe. The flange-specific end face is designed without sealing lips: A Hemisphere seals this area. The Gas leakage takes place via the hemisphere, where it is also possible to determine or check the residual oxygen content using a measuring probe. The forming chamber is purged by means of shock forming (increased gas flow of up to 50 litres/min); a homogeneous shielding gas atmosphere is created at the weld root.

A gas hose with a length of 10 m including 1/4″ connection is optionally available. The range of Original spare parts Includes holder, hemispheres in 3 different sizes, handle and fastening nut as well as screw connection end piece. Compatible with all sizes of ASS®- Opti sealing discs - for lasting sealing of the forming chamber, high process reliability and short disassembly and assembly times when changing the sealing discs.
