ASS®-Opti: Forming system for the highest welding quality

Reduction of the residual oxygen content to a minimum

ASS®-Opti quickly generates a controlled inert gas atmosphere at the seam root. The defined forming chamber and sintered metal inserts distribute the gas evenly; in combination with shock forming (increased gas flow rate of up to 50 litres/min), oxygen and moisture are displaced in a short time - for a bright, low-oxidation root side of the weld seam.

Efficient and time-saving processes

Impact moulding significantly reduces flushing times compared to conventional processes - in practice, up to ~50 % are possible. The permanently bonded design reduces parts handling and set-up time, and sealing lips can be changed quickly if required.

Example:

In plant construction projects, it is regularly shown that the changeover from permanent long-term flushing to Impact purging with ASS®-Opti significantly reduces the forming time and the seam root is noticeably lighter in colour - with consistently reproducible conditions in the forming chamber.

Flexible application for individual requirements:

ASS®-Opti covers pipe ID 98-320 mm and is available flexible or rigid and for flanges. The gas outlet side can be designed to suit the situation; common diameters are clearly organised in the case.

  • Opti Single - Forming/sealing on one side at the end of the pipe.
