ASS®- Prime 2
With front gas discharge for pipe Ø 50 mm – 1200 mm
ASS®- Prime 2 is for the formation of pipe joints with front gas outlet designed. The inflatable purging bladders seal the weld both-sided and limit the volume to be purged. The pipe weld purging gas flows from Secondary Bag towards Primary Bag and is discharged forwards under control. ASS®– Prime 2 is for internal pipe diameters of 50 to 1200 mm available.
How the ASS works®- Prime 2
At ASS®- Prime 2 essentially the construction, inflation and pipe weld purging remain the same as with the ASS®– Prime 1. The difference lies in the Gas routingThe pipe weld purging gas is fed through a second hose up to the Secondary Bag guided and there evenly into the sintered metal via Pipe weld purging chamber introduced.
From there, the shielding gas flows towards Primary Bag, displacing the remaining oxygen and becomes drained anteriorly. The gas flow therefore runs from secondary to primary – in other words, in the opposite direction to the conventional design. Inflation and purging times remain unchanged.
