How the ASS works®– Premium tube welding
For the pipe welding, two individual purging bladders to the left and right of the weld-in point positioned and inflated in the pipe. This creates a limited [space/area] directly beneath the branch connection Forming chamber.
The forming gas is supplied via the two red hoses introduced and exits the forming bladders evenly via sintered metal. The gas streams meet in the middle beneath the connector and displace the residual oxygen level upwards. This can escape in a controlled manner through small openings in the covered weld seam. This allows the welded area to form quickly and economically, without having to flush long pipe sections.
