Preparation for the flushing process
On this page you will find a quick guide to the correct use of our ASS® Prime forming system.
Preparation:
Position the forming unit:
The ASS®-Prime forming system is brought into the correct position in the pipe by means of a tension spring.
Check positioning:
Correct positioning can be achieved either by measuring the pull rope or by visually checking the welding gap. The phosphor band, which is attached in the centre of the system and glows in the dark, helps here.

Inflating the forming bladders and rinsing/forming:
Start inflating the forming bubbles:
Once the system is correctly positioned, you can start inflating the forming bladders (primary and secondary bags).
Start the flushing/forming process:
The purging of the forming chamber can begin. The purging process removes the atmospheric oxygen from the chamber and thus creates optimum conditions for the welding process.

High security
The ASS®-Prime forming system is equipped with safety valves that respond in three places. These valves prevent the pressure in the system from rising too high and causing damage.
- Safety level for the supply line
The supply line itself has a pressure reducer to regulate the gas pressure. - Monitoring of the inflation and flushing process
The inflation of the forming bubbles is protected by a safety valve. At the same time, this gas flows back into the forming chamber via the double branch valve - Connection of primary bag and secondary bag
Primary bag and secondary bag of the ASS®-Prime forming system are connected to each other by a wire rope. This connection provides an additional level of safety and allows the entire forming unit to be pulled out effortlessly in the event of a defect in one of the forming bladders.
