The ASS®– Prime end piece is for welding work on closed-end tube ends designed. It is used, for example, when a pipe is welded with a cap or an end piece. A single purging bladder delimits the area to be purged between the purging bladder and the end piece. A A second bag is not required for this application..
How the ASS works®– Prime end piece
The pipe weld purging bladder is based on the Primary Bag and is positioned directly in front of the pipe end. After inflation, it seals the area and creates a small, specifically delimited Pipe weld purging chamber. The pipe weld purging gas is fed via a separate supply line introduced and distributed evenly in the end region via sintered metal. In the process, the residual oxygen is displaced and can be discharged or measured via another opening.
Due to the short purging length, the area can be quickly purged with shielding gas. It is important that the prepared weld seam is cleanly covered with aluminium tape during the pipe weld purging process. The stiff supply hose makes it easier to push the system in as far as the end of the pipe.
