How the ASS works®– Prime end piece

The forming bladder is based on the Primary Bag and is positioned directly in front of the pipe end. After inflation, it seals the area and creates a small, specifically delimited Forming chamber. The forming gas is fed via a separate supply line introduced and distributed evenly in the end region via sintered metal. In the process, the residual oxygen is displaced and can be discharged or measured via another opening.

Due to the short purging length, the area can be quickly purged with shielding gas. It is important that the prepared weld seam is cleanly covered with aluminium tape during the forming process. The stiff supply hose makes it easier to push the system in as far as the end of the pipe.
