Advantages ASS®- Pipe weld purging technology
Shock-pipe weld purging is a welding preparation method in which oxygen and moisture are displaced by increased gas flow. The ASS®-Prime pipe weld purging system was specially developed for this technology to ensure an efficient and smooth gas supply and to guarantee welding quality.
The displacement of oxygen and moisture prevents tarnishing and discolouration, resulting in a high-quality weld seam at the root.
The impact pipe weld purging method allows significantly faster preparation of the pipe weld purging chamber compared to traditional methods.
The ASS®-Prime pipe weld purging system is developed, designed and manufactured entirely in-house at Holzer. The design, production and provision of spare parts are all carried out in-house, which ensures a high level of quality assurance and rapid availability.

ASS®- Prime
The inflatable pipe weld purging system ASS®-Prime from Holzer ASS® is a pipe weld purging system with a modular design that is suitable for a wide range of applications. Through years of experience with the pipe weld purging systems available on the market, the ASS® -Prime pipe weld purging system has been further developed to meet the requirements for the best possible absence of tarnish.
ASS®- Opti
Permanently bonded construction for fast set-up times, 3-lip sealing discs for secure sealing and hold, sintered metal for homogeneous gas distribution. ASS®- Opti M covers
For small pipes and narrow pipe guides. Symmetrical structure (identically designed inlet/outlet) facilitates insertion and positioning; permanently mounted "basic unit" for quick replacement of sealing discs; sintered metal for smooth gas flow; 3-lip sealing disc for secure hold - even in bends. ASS®- Pipe weld purging plugs
ASS®- Pipe weld purging plugs are the favourable alternative to the Holzer ASS®- Pipe weld purging systems: fast handling, reliable sealing of the pipe ends and targeted shielding gas supply. For pipe inside diameters Ø 9-115 mm, effective against draughts - available on request as a case set with sealing discs in all sizes. When used with shielding gas fingers, the shielding gas is introduced in a targeted manner.
